The inspiration for Verdurous Home came from the desire to create a living space that would serve as a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. The plant walls, a feature typically found in commercial spaces, are a key element of the design. They not only enhance the vertical scale of the space but also invigorate the living atmosphere, creating a sense of calm and serenity.

The design of Verdurous Home is tailored to the needs of a family of five. The layout of the flat and the vertical walls in the public area were carefully planned to foster a sense of connection and interaction among family members. This intimate relationship is symbolic of the family's future prospects and the continuation of their business.

The plant wall serves as a transitional area leading to the main living space on the second floor. The living space, adorned with wood and a few stones, exudes a calm and laid-back atmosphere. The design of the recessed wall gives way to a raised Japanese-style parlor, which offers a panoramic view of the outdoors. The use of different textures of wood in this space adds to its aesthetic appeal.

The open kitchen, located to the left of the TV wall, features a kitchen island and a round table. The use of plain-colored stones and wood in this area creates a sense of consistency in the design, while also adding a touch of warmth and charm. The Japanese-style space, with its carefully designed lighting, serves as a visual highlight in the house.

The private areas are located on the third, fourth, and fifth floors. The staircase, which is centrally located in the house, allows ample sunlight to filter in, enhancing the overall ambience of the space. The vertical grilles and four round plant walls add a touch of greenery to each room, further enhancing the living atmosphere.

The master bedroom is divided into resting and dressing areas, catering to the specific needs of the family members. The bedrooms for the three girls are individually decorated in simple, gorgeous, and lively styles, reflecting their unique personalities while also fostering a sense of family connection.

Verdurous Home is a testament to Chien-Neng Chang's innovative approach to residential design. By seamlessly blending nature with architecture, Chang has created a living space that is not only visually stunning but also fosters a sense of tranquility and connection with the natural world.
